Victory to Hanuman, the ocean of wisdom and virtue. Victory to the Lord of monkeys, who illuminates the three worlds.

राम दूत अतुलित बल धामा।
अंजनि पुत्र पवनसुत नामा॥

Ram Doot Atulit Bal Dhama.
Anjani Putra Pavansut Nama.

You are the messenger of Lord Rama and the abode of immeasurable strength. You are known as Anjani's son and the Son of the Wind.

महाबीर बिक्रम बजरंगी।
कुमति निवार सुमति के संगी॥

Mahabeer Bikram Bajrangi.
Kumati Nivar Sumati Ke Sangi.

Great hero, you are as mighty as a thunderbolt. You remove evil thoughts and are the companion of good sense.

कंचन बरन बिराज सुबेसा।
कानन कुंडल कुंचित केसा॥

Kanchan Baran Biraj Subesa.
Kanan Kundal Kunchit Kesa.

Your complexion is golden and you are adorned with beautiful clothes. You wear earrings and have curly hair.

हाथ बज्र औ ध्वजा बिराजै।
कांधे मूंज जनेऊ साजै॥

Hath Bajra Au Dhwaja Birajai.
Kandhe Moonj Janeu Sajai.

In your hands shine the thunderbolt and the flag. A sacred thread made of munja grass adorns your shoulder.

शंकर सुवन केसरी नंदन।
तेज प्रताप महा जग बंदन॥

Shankar Suvan Kesari Nandan.
Tej Pratap Maha Jag Bandan.

You are an incarnation of Lord Shiva and the son of Kesari. Your glory and might are praised throughout the world.

विद्यावान गुनी अति चातुर।
राम काज करिबे को आतुर॥

Vidyavan Guni Ati Chatur.
Ram Kaj Karibe Ko Aatur.

You are learned, virtuous, and extremely clever. You are always eager to do Lord Rama's work.

प्रभु चरित्र सुनिबे को रसिया।
राम लखन सीता मन बसिया॥

Prabhu Charitra Sunibe Ko Rasiya.
Ram Lakhan Sita Man Basiya.

You delight in hearing the stories of the Lord. Ram, Lakshman, and Sita dwell in your heart.

सूक्ष्म रूप धरि सियहिं दिखावा।
बिकट रूप धरि लंक जरावा॥

Sukshma Roop Dhari Siyahi Dikhawa.
Bikat Roop Dhari Lanka Jarawa.

In a tiny form, you appeared to Sita. In a fearsome form, you burned Lanka.

भीम रूप धरि असुर संहारे।
रामचंद्र के काज संवारे॥

Bheem Roop Dhari Asur Samhare.
Ramchandra Ke Kaj Sanware.

In a gigantic form, you destroyed demons. You accomplished all of Lord Rama's tasks.

लाय सजीवन लखन जियाये।
श्री रघुबीर हरषि उर लाये॥

Laye Sajivan Lakhan Jiyaye.
Shri Raghubir Harashi Ur Laye.

By bringing the Sanjeevani herb, you revived Lakshman. Shri Rama embraced you with joy.

रघुपति कीन्हीं बहुत बड़ाई।
तुम मम प्रिय भरतहि सम भाई॥

Raghupati Kinhi Bahut Badai.
Tum Mama Priya Bharatahi Sam Bhai.

Lord Rama praised you greatly, saying "You are as dear to me as my brother Bharat."

सहस बदन तुम्हरो जस गावैं।
अस कहि श्रीपति कंठ लगावैं॥

Sahas Badan Tumharo Jas Gawai.
As Kahi Shripati Kanth Lagawai.

"May the thousand-headed Shesha sing your glory," said Lord Rama and embraced you.

सनकादिक ब्रह्मादि मुनीसा।
नारद सारद सहित अहीसा॥

Sanakadik Brahmadi Munisa.
Narad Sarad Sahit Ahisa.

Sages like Sanaka, Brahma, Narad, Saraswati, and even Shesha sing your praises.

जम कुबेर दिगपाल जहां ते।
कबि कोबिद कहि सके कहां ते॥

Jam Kuber Digpal Jahan Te.
Kavi Kovid Kahi Sake Kahan Te.

Yama, Kubera, and the guardians of directions - even poets and scholars cannot fully describe your glory.

तुम उपकार सुग्रीवहिं कीन्हा।
राम मिलाय राज पद दीन्हा॥

Tum Upkar Sugrivahi Kinha.
Ram Milaye Raj Pad Dinha.

You did a great favor to Sugriva by introducing him to Rama and helping him regain his kingdom.

तुम्हरो मंत्र बिभीषन माना।
लंकेश्वर भए सब जग जाना॥

Tumharo Mantra Vibhishan Mana.
Lankeshwar Bhaye Sab Jag Jana.

Vibhishana followed your counsel and became the Lord of Lanka, as the whole world knows.

जुग सहस्र जोजन पर भानू।
लील्यो ताहि मधुर फल जानू॥

Jug Sahastra Jojan Par Bhanu.
Lilyo Tahi Madhur Phal Janu.

The sun is millions of miles away, yet you swallowed it thinking it to be a sweet fruit.

प्रभु मुद्रिका मेलि मुख माहीं।
जलधि लांघि गये अचरज नाहीं॥

Prabhu Mudrika Meli Mukh Mahi.
Jaladhi Langhi Gaye Acharaj Nahi.

Carrying Lord Rama's ring in your mouth, you crossed the ocean - no wonder!

दुर्गम काज जगत के जेते।
सुगम अनुग्रह तुम्हरे तेते॥

Durgam Kaj Jagat Ke Jete.
Sugam Anugrah Tumhare Tete.

All the difficult tasks of the world become easy with your grace.

राम दुआरे तुम रखवारे।
होत न आज्ञा बिनु पैसारे॥

Ram Duare Tum Rakhware.
Hot Na Aagya Binu Paisare.

You are the guardian of Lord Rama's door. No one can enter without your permission.

सब सुख लहैं तुम्हारी सरना।
तुम रक्षक काहू को डर ना॥

Sab Sukh Lahai Tumhari Sarna.
Tum Rakshak Kahu Ko Dar Na.

All happiness comes to those who take refuge in you. With you as protector, there is nothing to fear.

आपन तेज सम्हारो आपै।
तीनों लोक हांक तें कांपै॥

Aapan Tej Samharo Aapai.
Teeno Lok Hank Te Kanpai.

Only you can control your own power. The three worlds tremble at your roar.

भूत पिसाच निकट नहिं आवै।
महाबीर जब नाम सुनावै॥

Bhoot Pisach Nikat Nahi Aawai.
Mahabir Jab Naam Sunawai.

Ghosts and evil spirits do not come near when one chants the name of Mahabir (Hanuman).

नासै रोग हरै सब पीरा।
जपत निरंतर हनुमत बीरा॥

Nasai Rog Harai Sab Peera.
Japat Nirantar Hanumat Beera.

All diseases and pain are destroyed by constantly chanting the name of brave Hanuman.

संकट तें हनुमान छुड़ावै।
मन क्रम बचन ध्यान जो लावै॥

Sankat Te Hanuman Chhudawai.
Man Kram Bachan Dhyan Jo Lawai.

Hanuman rescues from troubles those who meditate on him with thought, word, and deed.

सब पर राम तपस्वी राजा।
तिन के काज सकल तुम साजा॥

Sab Par Ram Tapaswi Raja.
Tin Ke Kaj Sakal Tum Saja.

Rama is king over all ascetics. You accomplish all his tasks.

और मनोरथ जो कोई लावै।
सोई अमित जीवन फल पावै॥

Aur Manorath Jo Koi Lawai.
Soi Amit Jivan Phal Pawai.

Whoever comes to you with any wish receives the unlimited fruit of life.

चारों जुग परताप तुम्हारा।
है परसिद्ध जगत उजियारा॥

Charo Jug Partap Tumhara.
Hai Parsiddh Jagat Ujiyara.

Your glory spreads through all four ages. Your fame illuminates the world.

साधु संत के तुम रखवारे।
असुर निकंदन राम दुलारे॥

Sadhu Sant Ke Tum Rakhware.
Asur Nikandan Ram Dulare.

You are the protector of saints and sages, the destroyer of demons, and the beloved of Rama.

अष्ट सिद्धि नौ निधि के दाता।
अस बर दीन जानकी माता॥

Ashta Siddhi Nau Nidhi Ke Data.
As Bar Din Janaki Mata.

You can grant the eight siddhis and nine nidhis. Mother Janaki has given you this boon.

राम रसायन तुम्हरे पासा।
सदा रहो रघुपति के दासा॥

Ram Rasayan Tumhare Pasa.
Sada Raho Raghupati Ke Dasa.

You possess the elixir of Ram's name. You always remain a servant of Raghupati.

तुम्हरे भजन राम को पावै।
जनम जनम के दुख बिसरावै॥

Tumhare Bhajan Ram Ko Pawai.
Janam Janam Ke Dukh Bisrawai.

Through devotion to you, one attains Rama and forgets the sorrows of many lifetimes.

अंत काल रघुबर पुर जाई।
जहां जन्म हरि भक्त कहाई॥

Ant Kaal Raghubar Pur Jayi.
Jahan Janma Hari Bhakta Kahayi.

At the end of life, one goes to Rama's abode and, if born again, is called a devotee of Hari.

और देवता चित्त न धरई।
हनुमत सेइ सर्ब सुख करई॥

Aur Devata Chitta Na Dharai.
Hanumat Sei Sarva Sukh Karai.

Even without worshipping other gods, one attains all happiness by serving Hanuman.

संकट कटै मिटै सब पीरा।
जो सुमिरै हनुमत बलबीरा॥

Sankat Katai Mitai Sab Peera.
Jo Sumirai Hanumat Balbeera.

All troubles are cut off and all pains are removed for those who remember the mighty Hanuman.

जय जय जय हनुमान गोसाईं।
कृपा करहु गुरुदेव की नाईं॥

Jai Jai Jai Hanuman Gosain.
Kripa Karahu Gurudev Ki Nain.

Victory, victory, victory to Lord Hanuman! Bestow your grace upon me as my Guru.

जो सत बार पाठ कर कोई।
छूटहि बंदि महा सुख होई॥

Jo Sat Baar Paath Kar Koi.
Chhutahi Bandi Maha Sukh Hoi.

Whoever recites this a hundred times is freed from bondage and attains great happiness.

जो यह पढ़ै हनुमान चालीसा।
होय सिद्धि साखी गौरीसा॥

Jo Yah Padhai Hanuman Chalisa.
Hoy Siddhi Sakhi Gaurisa.

Whoever reads this Hanuman Chalisa attains perfection, with Lord Shiva as witness.
